Suicide: Man Jumped From St. Pete Building, Police Say
A 36-year-old man is dead following an apparent suicide at a building under construction in St. Petersburg.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating the Thursday afternoon death of a 36-year-old man.
According to the agency, officers were notified just before 1 p.m. Dec. 8 that a man had fallen from a building under construction near All Children’s Hospital. The man landed on Mound Park Avenue South, near 6th Street South, the agency noted in an email to media.
The agency reported at 2:30 p.m., the man's death is an apparent suicide. He reportedly jumped from the top floor of the building, which is on the southeast corner of 6th Avenue South and 5th Street.

The man, police say, was not employed by the company overseeing construction at the site. His identity has not yet been released.
