Mother's Decomposing Body Found After Landlord Calls Police
A man was found living with the decomposing body of his 92-year-old mother, St. Petersburg police said.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 67-year-old St. Petersburg man is under investigation after he was found living with his mother’s decomposing body, authorities said.
A landlord called police on Sunday to check on an elderly tenant, Susan King, 92, who lived on 2nd Avenue South, because they hadn’t been able to contact her for several months, St. Petersburg police said.
Officers responded and spoke with her son, Michael Moulton, who said his mother was visiting a friend and “would be back in a day or two,” police said.

They returned Monday to see if King had returned home. While searching the house, offices found her body in an advanced stage of decomposition.
A preliminary autopsy didn’t show signs of trauma or foul play.

Moulton was detained for an arrest warrant from 2013 for failure to appear on a theft charge, police said.
The investigation is active and additional charges could be forthcoming.
