Man's Body Found Floating In St. Pete Pond

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating the death of a 30-year-old man whose body was found floating in a retention pond Thursday morning.

According to the agency, officers were called to the 1300 block of North Devonshire Drive around 9:15 a.m. July 20. When they arrived, they found Elvis Mustafic dead.

Mustafic’s family told authorities they saw him last around 3 a.m. Wednesday, an email from the police department said.

“The cause of death is still under investigation, but at this time it does not appear suspicious,” the email said.
