Man Wanted In St. Pete Murder

St. Petersburg Police are asking for help locating an 'armed and dangerous' man wanted in connection with a Monday murder.

ST. PETERBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is asking for help locating a 26-year-old man wanted in connection with a Monday murder. Police say Denzel Rashad Tarver has been connected to the death of Timothy Karl Davis, 34.

Police found Davis near the intersection of 11th Avenue South and 23rd Street shortly after receiving a 6:36 p.m. May 15 call about shots fired. The first officers on scene took 90 seconds to respond, an email from the agency noted. When they arrived, officers found Davis in the street, suffering from gunshot wounds. Rescue attempts were made, but they were not successful.

Authorities have not said how Tarver was connected with the shooting, but announced a second-degree murder warrant had been issued for his arrest. Tarver is described as standing 5-foot-2 and weighs an estimated 140 pounds.

“Tarver should be considered armed and dangerous,” police wrote in a Wednesday email to media.
