North St. Pete Fire Displaces Four Adults, Three Dogs

The fire on 17th Avenue North broke out in a two-story building with two apartments.

St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue responded late Wednesday night to a fire in a two-story apartment house, at 1335 17th Ave. North.

At 11:20 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, firefighters went to the two-story residence, where there was heavy fire venting from the rear porch area of an upstairs apartment. They were able to extinguish the blaze.

There were no injuries reported, and the Red Cross assisted with finding temporary housing for the four adults and their three dogs.

Fire investigators were on scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire. The fire is not considered suspicious and is unrelated another fire on Wednesday, at 1030 13th Street North.
