ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol got a call to rescue an otter Sunday afternoon in St. Petersburg, an FHP news release said.

The small creature was seen wandering along the shoulder of the busy Gandy Boulevard near the Fourth Street overpass. A passerby who had a net and pet carrier stopped to help the troopers with the furry suspect whose cuteness might have been causing drivers to rubberneck. The otter was safely relocated to a nearby pond, officers said.
