Passenger Dies After Falling Under Wheel of Bus
The St. Petersburg man stepped off the PSTA transit bus and lost his balance, investigators said.

A 59-year-old St. Petersburg man has died from injuries suffered when he lost his balance and fell under the wheel of a moving PSTA transit bus, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Joseph Lukowski was a passenger on the bus Monday, as it traveled north on 49th Street North, according to investigators.
Lukowski lost his balance as he got off the bus through a rear door. The victim fell to the ground and under the right rear bus tire, as the vehicle started to pull away from the bus stop, investigators said.

The bus was driven by Charles Dunbar of Indian Rocks Beach.
Lukowski was transported to Northside Hospital where he died overnight from his injuries.

The accident occurred at 49th Street North, near 44th Avenue.
