Pedestrian Killed By SUV In St. Pete: Police

Roosevelt Boulevard N. near Fourth Street N was closed in both directions for a few hours as police investigated a pedestrian's death.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 63-year-old man was hit and killed by a car Thursday night on Roosevelt Boulevard, St. Petersburg police said.

A 2017 Acura SUV drove eastbound in the 10000 block of Roosevelt Blvd N at about 7:45 p.m., when the pedestrian walked in front of the vehicle, investigators said. The man was hit near the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and MLK Jr. St. N.

St. Pete Fire Rescue pronounced the victim dead at the location.

The driver stopped and cooperated with law enforcement authorities. Roosevelt Boulevard was shut down for a few hours in both directions between Fourth Street North and MLK Street N for the investigation.
