Rapper Rod Wave Arrested In St. Pete, Faces Battery Charge: Police

A battery by strangulation warrant was issued by the Osceola County Sheriff's Office for hip-hop star Rod Wave in December.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A battery by strangulation warrant issued for St. Pete rapper Rod Wave in December by the Osceola County Sheriff's Office landed him in the Pinellas County Jail on Sunday night, according to jail records.

According to a St. Pete police arrest affidavit, Wave — whose real name is Rodarius Marcell Green — was arrested about 10:34 p.m. after he was found in the front passenger seat of a 2021 Dodge Durango that police pulled over for a traffic violation in the 5100 block of Venetian Boulevard N.E.

The affidavit said the Durango was registered to Green.

The battery by strangulation warrant was issued for Green on Dec. 10 in Osceola County, the affidavit said.

Details about the incident that resulted in the warrant have not been released by the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.
