Rates Will Go Up In 2012 For Progress Energy Customers
The increase won't be as high as once thought.

Customers of Progress Energy can expect to see higher bills next year. However, the Public Service Commission decided to give customers a bit of a break by delaying the repayment of some nuclear costs.
If the PSC approves the fuel, purchased power and other remaining costs as filed by Progress Energy, rates for 2012 would rise slightly – by about $3.92 (a 3% increase). Fuel and purchased power is the largest of the components that make up the rate – making up more than half of the rate.
