Reduced Sentence in Police Shooting Death?
Nicholas Lindsey is serving a life sentence without parole.

Attorneys for Nicholas Lindsey plan to seek a reduced sentence for the teenager convicted of fatally shooting St. Petersburg police Officer David S. Crawford.
On Wednesday, Circuit Judge Thane Covert set a tentative date of July 26 for the hearing, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
The attorneys for Lindsey – serving a life sentence without parole – appeared at a hearing in Pinellas County to "correct sentencing errors" in the case. Lindsey, 18, was in the courtroom for the hearing.

Lindsey was 17 when he was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison without parole in the shooting death of Crawford. He was 16 when the shooting occurred.
The U.S. Supreme Court has since ruled that it is unconstitutional to mandate life sentences without parole for juveniles without considering alternative forms of punishment. The sentence is required under Florida law for murder.
