Missing 79-Year-Old Man Located In Sarasota: St. Pete Police

A silver alert issued on Tuesday morning for a missing St. Pete man has been canceled after he was safely located.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL —Ben Taylor has been safely located in Sarasota, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

A silver alert has been issued for 79-year-old Ben G. Taylor of St. Petersburg, according to authorities.

St. Petersburg Police Department issued the alert for Taylor on Tuesday morning. He was last seen at 3:30 a.m. at his home in the 2300 block of 25th Ave. S, officials told Patch.

Taylor was wearing a gold shirt with black pants and a pair of loafers, investigators said.

Detectives said Taylor lives with significant diminished mental capacity.

Officers described him as five-feet-nine, weighs 140 pounds and has difficulty standing and walking.

Taylor is possibly driving his 1979 black GMC truck with Florida tag 232MSF.

Anyone with information on Taylor's location is asked to call the St. Petersburg Police Department at 727-893-7780 or 9-1-1.
