SPC Brittany Gordon Honored by Hillsborough Sheriff's Office

A tribute video for fallen hero Spc. Brittany Gordon has been created by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has created a touching tribute video for U.S. Army Spc. Brittany Gordon. 

Gordon, 24, was killed on Oct. 13 in Kandahar, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked her unit with an improvised explosive device. She is the daughter of St. Petersburg Assistant Police Chief Cedric Gordon and Brenda Gordon. 

With the permission of the family of U.S. Army Spc. Brittany Gordon, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is proud to present a video tribute to one of our nation's fallen heroes. The Sheriff's Office will make sure our fallen heroes never come home alone.

The video follows Gordon's motorcade from MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa to Lawson Funeral Home in St. Petersburg. Along the route, thousands put their hands over their hearts and saluted Gordon for her service. 

Gordon was assigned to the 572 Military Intelligence Company, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington.
