As Hurricane Idalia approaches Florida, St. Pete-Clearwater Airport will close Tuesday afternoon.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — With Hurricane Idalia barreling down on Florida, St. Pete-Clearwater Airport will close ahead of the storm, according to a social media post from the airport.
By Tuesday at 3 p.m., the airport will have shut down because of Idalia, which could develop into a major storm.
The airport plans to reopen by Wednesday at 3 p.m. Passengers should check with their airline for individual flight updates.
