St. Pete Eatery Warned For 30 Code Violations By State Inspectors
Live insects and temperature abuse are some of the violations found recently in Pinellas County restaurants.
PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – Live insects and temperature abuse are some of the violations that Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation inspectors found recently during inspections of Pinellas County restaurants.
Note: Most of the restaurants that received warnings for code violations have corrected those violations and passed subsequent inspections.
Locale, 179 2nd Ave N, St. Petersburg, was cited for 30 violations on July 12, including live, small flying insects found on premises, including one in grill station, four on ceiling in salad bar station, one in dish area, one on ice machine door, three in bakery and three on ceiling; stop sale issued on potentially hazardous food due to temperature abuse, including cooked mushrooms and cooked chicken; and standing water in handwash sink.

China 1 Bill Inc., 12004 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, received warnings for seven violations, three of which were high-priority violations, July 11, including cooked rice kept at a potentially hazardous temperature (corrected immediately); storing raw chicken over cooked egg rolls in the stand-up refrigerator; and storing raw chicken over frozen crab rangoons in the stand-up freezer.
Largo Family Restaurant, 788 N. Missouri Ave., Largo, received 24 warnings July 11, five of which were high-priority code violations including cooked sausage, cut ham, ground beef and pulled beef stored at improper temperatures; and re-serving safety creamer cups to customers after they've been sitting out on the table of a previous customer.

In the last 21 days, 94 Pinellas County restaurants did not pass their first inspections while 85 aced the first visit. For more details on Pinellas County restaurant inspections, click here.
The inspectors made note of six Pinellas County restaurants that have passed inspections this month without any violations: Cousins Maine Lobster, 309 Coronado Drive Suite B, Clearwater Beach; Sonder Social Club, 966 Douglas Ave. Unit 101, Dunedin; Sly Dogs Vegan Hot Dog Cart, 25778 US 19, Clearwater; Wingstop, 1925 W. Brandon Blvd., Brandon; Madeira Bay Resort, 13235 Gulf Blvd., Madeira Beach; and Casa Italia Restaurant, 2699 Gulf Blvd., Indian Rocks Beach.
