St. Pete Murder Suspect Captured
St. Petersburg Police say they've arrested a man wanted in connection with a Monday murder.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department has announced an arrest in the May 15 shooting death of Timothy Karl Davis. Police say Denzel Tarver was brought into custody Saturday morning without incident.
The search for Tarver began shortly after police received 911 calls about shots fired in the area of 11th Avenue South and 23rd Street around 6:36 p.m. May 15. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Davis, 34, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, Davis died from his injuries, police said.

Shortly after Davis' death, police announced that a second-degree murder warrant had been issued for Tarver’s arrest. Authorities have not said how detectives connected the 26-year-old to the shooting.
Tarver was arrested at 10:30 a.m. on May 20. He was being booked into the Pinellas County Jail on second-degree murder charges Saturday morning. A booking photo is not yet available.
