Suspect Named In St. Pete Triple Shooting

St. Petersburg Police have launched a search for a man wanted in connection with a Jan. 4 triple shooting that left one man dead.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is asking for help locating a man wanted in connection with a Jan. 4 triple shooting that resulted in one death. According to the agency, Saveon Diontre Barbery, 22, has a warrant out for his arrest as a principal to first-degree murder.

Police say an extensive hunt has been on for Barbery for the past few days. The warrant for Barbery’s arrest was issued Jan. 9, but only announced on Friday.

Barbery is described as being 6 feet tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He has a light complexion and hazel eyes.

Barbery is accused of being involved with a triple shooting that occurred on Jan. 4 in the 3800 block of 1st Avenue South. Antonio Adams, 39, died following the shooting. Two other people, whose names have not been released, were also injured.

"Detectives continue their investigation and seek at least one additional suspect, believed to be the person who shot Adams," a Jan. 13 email from the police department said.

Anyone with information about Barbery’s whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS or online at www.crimestoppersofpinellas.org. A $3,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.

Police have not released information about the suspected shooter at this time. No further information is available.
