SUV, Driver Sought In Fatal Street Racing Crash: St. Pete Police

1 person was killed and another seriously injured in a Sept. 11 street racing crash on 1st Avenue S., St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Investigators are seeking an SUV and its driver that were involved in a fatal street racing crash on Sept. 11, according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release. (Watch a video of the SUV below.)

An Infinity Q6 SUV driven by Charles Williams IV, 22, and a Ford Ranger driven by 52-year-old Corey Koeppen crashed on 1st Avenue S. at 51st Street S.

Koeppen was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene, police said.

Williams was brought to Orlando Health Bayfront with serious injuries and later released.

Investigators determined that Williams was racing a black SUV while driving in the designated bus lane when he crashed into Koeppen, police said.
