Tampa Bay and Detroit Fox Stations Twitter War

Local news stations in Tampa Bay and Detroit engaged in a Twitter battle after the trade of David Price.

Two local FOX stations went at it on Twitter over the trade of David Price.

As reported in Patch Thursday, Tampa Bay Rays All-Star southpaw David Price was traded to the Detroit Tigers Thursday in a last minute deal before an MLB deadline.

MyFOX Tampa Bay tweeted, “Take some comfort, Rays fans” with a meme featuring two side-by-side photos:

One photo featured rundown buildings with “Detroit” over it, and the other with a beach and the words “Tampa Bay,” with a caption underneath “Good Luck David,” according to a screenshot posted by The Tampa Tribune.

The tweet prompted MyFOX Detroit to sound off, who then tweeted a two-photo meme of empty seats at Tropicana Field, a jab at the Rays low attendance numbers, and beneath it packed seats at Detroit’s Comerica ballpark.
