ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A teenager was arrested and charged with first-degree murder for the death of his mother’s boyfriend, St. Petersburg police said.

Officers responded to a report of a suspicious death at a 51st Avenue home on Oct. 17 around 3:45 p.m.

Otis Moore, 54, was found dead from blunt-force trauma to his body, police said. No one else was home at the time.

During their investigation, police learned that 19-year-old Jha’Quel Maynor had an argument with Moore that led to the man’s death.

Maynor lived at the home with his mother and Moore, who were in a relationship.
