Safest Towns In FL Ranked: Here Is The Full List
Is your town among the safest in Florida? See the new rankings for 2025.
FLORIDA — Many residents in Florida worry about gun violence every day, although about 10 percent fewer residents experienced such violence, a new report said.
SafeWise, a security product review platform, looked at FBI crime statistics for municipalities in Florida to compile its 11th annual Safest Cities report. A total of 33 towns met the criteria to be considered for ranking.
The company named the barrier island of Marco Island off the coast of Naples the safest city in Florida for the second year in a row. There hasn't been a lot of motion among the other high achievers, either — the remaining nine cities all previously appeared on the Top 10 list over the last couple of years.

All 10 towns reported a combined total of just two murders.
Four cities in the Sunshine State reported zero murders: Marco Island, Safety Harbor, Wildwood, and Dunedin.

The report said Marco Island and Wildwood also reported zero robberies.
Each safest city reported at least two rapes.
And although its population is three times larger than Marco Island's, Pensacola reported fewer burglaries than Florida's safest city.
"I feel the biggest safety concern in our community this past year is guns. There has been an uptick in shootings," a Florida resident said in the survey.
Attitudes about gun violence in Florida
- 2 in 3 Florida respondents (66%) said they worry about gun violence on a daily basis, down from 68% in the previous year's survey.
- 9% of Floridians said they experienced gun violence in the eight months prior to the survey, down from 17% the year before.
- There were 32 mass shooting incidents reported in Florida in 2024, 2 more than the previous year.
- Florida had the third-highest number of mass shooting incidents nationwide behind Illinois and California.
- Firearms are Floridians' most popular form of personal protection and are carried by 18% of survey respondents who use personal safety devices.
- Firearms are the fourth choice for property protection in Florida, with 1 in 4 of respondents using them.
The report is based upon voluntary, self-reported information that cities and jurisdictions across the country report through the FBI Summary Reporting System (SRS) and National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS). For the 2025 reporting year, the most recent FBI data was released in October 2024 for crimes reported in 2023. Read more about the methodology here.
