Two Killed, Child Injured In Tow Truck Crash: St. Pete Police
Two people were killed and a 9-year-old boy critically injured in a truck between an SUV and a tow truck, St. Petersburg police said.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Two people were killed in a Tuesday afternoon crash between a tow truck and an SUV, according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.
The tow truck was traveling west in the 1900 block of 5th Avenue S. just before 5 p.m.
At the same time, an SUV driven by 35-year-old Shakesha Desence was turning left onto 5th Avenue S. from 20th Avenue S. when they crashed, police said.

She was brought to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Her passenger, 72-year-old Dilean Desence, died at the scene, police said.

His 9-year-old grandson, also a passenger, was brought to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital with serious injuries and remains in critical condition.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
