Woman Fatally Shot Outside Apartment: St. Pete Police

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 25-year-old woman was fatally shot early Tuesday morning outside a St. Petersburg apartment complex, authorities said.

Officers responded to a call about a person shot at the Reserve at Lake Point apartments, 5640 Lynn Lake Drive S., just before 6 a.m., St. Petersburg police said.

They found Yvonne Abernethy, who was shot in the walkway outside the apartment she shared with a family member.

She died at the scene and the gunman isn’t in custody, police said.
