WWE To Host 2024 Royal Rumble At Tropicana Field In St. Petersburg

The wrestling organization will also host Monday Night Raw at Tampa's Amalie Arena in January.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — WWE will bring its 37th annual Royal Rumble to St. Petersburg next year.

The event will take place Jan. 27 at Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays, according to a news release from Visit St. Pete/Clearwater.

This will be the first time the Royal Rumble has been held in the Tampa Bay area since 1995.
WWE is bringing a full weekend of events to the region. Two days after the Royal Rumble, Monday Night Raw will take place Jan. 29 at Tampa’s Amalie Arena.

The WWE has partnered with the Rays, Visit St. Pete/Clearwater and the Tampa Bay Sports Commission to bring these events to the area.

The Royal Rumble will be headlined by the 30-man and 30-woman matches, with the winners of both receiving a championship match opportunity at WrestleMania 40.

This year’s record-setting Royal Rumble, which took place in San Antonio, Texas, was the WWE’s highest-grossing and most-viewed Royal Rumble in company history and set an all-time gate record at more than $7.7 million, far surpassing the previous event’s high in 2017 by more than 50 percent.
