City Begins Wastewater Treatment Facility Maintenance

A number of maintenance projects are planned for the month of October.

A number of maintenance projects are planned for the month of October in the city of Tarpon Springs.

On Tuesday, the city announced the start of maintenance on the Wastewater Treatment Facility (201 East Pine Street).

Current activities include draining treatment basins for sediment removal, structural inspections and installation of new process equipment.

In a news release, city officials shared that the facility hopes to complete the projects within 30 days. 

With the various projects comes the potential for odors and noises from the equipment. Officials warned in the release that there could be a short interruption in available reclaimed water.
