Has Landlord Been Taken to the Cleaners?

The owner of a Tarpon Springs shopping center claims a local dry cleaners has not paid rent. He recently hired some men to carry signs that publicized the dispute.

A Tarpon Springs shopping center owner decided to take him complaints against a tenant to the streets. Literally.

WFla.com (Channel 8) is reporting that shopping center owner George Levey hired four men to walk along U.S. 19 with signs that state: "A-1 cleaners has not paid rent in 21 months."

Levey claims that the owner has not paid rent on his shop in the six months he has owned the shopping center, according to WFla.com. He said that the cleaners was delinquent under the previous owner, too.

But Ravi Patel, who owns the cleaners, declined to talk with WFla.com about the allegations. Levey bought the shopping center, when it was in foreclosure.

Levey's attorney has filed a lawsuit to evict the cleaners, according to WFla.com
