Minor Injuries In Tarpon Springs Fire
A Sunday night building fire in Tarpon Springs sent one person to the hospital.

TARPON SPRINGS, FL — Tarpon Springs Fire Rescue is investigating a Sunday evening fire that resulted in one person being sent to the hospital with minor injuries.
According to the agency, the single-alarm fire was reported just after 10 p.m. March 5 in the 700 block of Dodecanese Boulevard. The fire, officials say, was contained to the back of the building in an area under a stairway that leads to a second-floor apartment.
The building suffered damage to its rear exterior and stairway. Smoke damage occurred in the second-floor apartment, an email from the City of Tarpon Springs said.

The two businesses on the second floor were not damaged, the city said.
One person was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries after the blaze. Officials say seven others were checked out by rescue personnel on scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but officials say it does not appear suspicious in nature.
