Night in the Islands Draws Hundreds
One of the most celebrated events in Tarpon Springs brought a slew of people to the sponge docks on Saturday evening.
Tarpon Springs combines Greek culture and modern entertainment to please visitors each month during its Night in the Islands celebration.
The sponge docks were a popular place to be on Saturday night’s September edition of the event. Folks enjoyed outdoor dining under the stars while servers brought flaming dishes to their table.
Lines of music lovers danced to authentic Greek sounds from the band, Ellada. The group features three of the most talented Greek musicians in the state of Florida: George Soffos on bouzouki, Elias Poulos on vocals and Dino Theofilos on the keyboard.
Night in the Islands is presented by the City of Tarpon Springs and the next celebration will be held on Saturday, October 6 at 6pm.
