Opa! Tarpon Welcomes Greek Food and Wine Festival

On Saturday, locals welcomed the first annual celebration of Greek culture.

From a distance, visitors could smell, hear and feel the Greek celebration taking place at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church (36 N. Pinellas Ave.) in Tarpon Springs over the weekend.

The celebration was a pioneer as the First Annual Greek Food and Wine Festival.

Specialty Greek groceries, dancing and vendors filled the scene. For three days, the festival gave locals a taste of the islands, in more ways than one.
