PHOTOS: Pinellas Trail Extension to Link East Lake Rd., Keystone Rd. and U.S. 19

Construction workers are extending the East Lake section of the Pinellas Trail so it will continue north onto Keystone Road and then to U.S. 19 in Tarpon Springs.

If all goes as planned, this summer you'll be able to bike, rollerblade walk or run from East Lake to Tarpon Springs on a new extension of the Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail.

Construction workers are extending the East Lake section of the Pinellas Trail so it will continue north onto Keystone Road and then to U.S. 19 in Tarpon Springs. 

This week, crews began paving the new extended part of the trail near the intersection of East Lake Road and Keystone Road.

The Pinellas Trail extension is expected to be completed in the summer of 2013, according to Pinellas County. It is part of a larger Keystone Road widening project.
