Tailgate Party, Scavenger Hunt and Pinellas Turns 100
Check out the groovy events happening this weekend in Tarpon Springs.

Spongers Tailgate Party
Sweetbay (1171 South Pinellas Avenue) will be hosting a tailgate party in honor of the Tarpon Springs Spongers. Friday night’s rival game against East Lake promises to be a match to remember. Get amped up before the game, from 4-7pm in the parking lot of Sweetbay with food, drinks and raffles. Wear your Tarpon colors and receive free entry. Admission is a $2 school donation for all others.
Photo Scavenger Hunt
The Tarpon Springs Chamber of Commerce will be holding their Photo Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, from 10am-4pm. Teams will compete by capturing images from a list, each is worth a different number of points. The team with the most points will be awarded the honor of being called the scavenger hunt champs. Did we mention the proceeds go to benefit the local Suncoast Hospice? Check out the  for more information.
Pinellas 100th Anniversary Weekend
To celebrate its separation from Hillsborough county in 1912, Pinellas is throwing a weekend long party. Check out the list of events:
Saturday, Sept. 15
- 7 a.m. in (12615 102nd Ave, Largo, FL). The special run for the fishes' shirts were designed by Clearwater resident Lyle Polyack.
- 8 a.m. in the courtyard of the fishing center.
- 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Heritage Village, Center for Fishing and Botanical Gardens.
- Noon
- Cost $10 at the Fishing Center
- Noon- Family Fish Fry, Cost $10 (same as Saturday)
- Noon- 5 p.m. Events and hands on programs at Heritage Village, Center for Fishing and Botanical Gardens (same as Saturday)
