Tarpon Springs Marching Band Strikes Again

The group of talented teens took their second out of two championships in just the last few weeks.

Tarpon Springs Marching Band was crowned grand champion in last weekend's East Lake Sound Spectacular, where they performed "Poisoned." 

It was just a week ago that the team placed first at the Seminole Sound competition.

During their recent win at East Lake, the Tarpon Springs Marching Band also secured a number of other awards, including:

  • Best Brass
  • Best Auxiliary
  • Best Color Guard
  • Best Percussion
  • Best Drum Major 
  • Most Outstanding Visual & Outstanding Music

As of today, 162 students of the band have practiced more than 38,000 hours.  

The group of teens hopes to secure the grand champion award for the third year in a row at the Bands of America Super Regional Championships, which takes place on the last weekend in October in Atlanta.

This weekend, the Tarpon Springs Marching Band will be hosting the Tarpon Springs Outdoor Music Festival. Bands from all over the state of Florida will be participating in the festival.
