Tarpon Springs Police Seek Public's Help in Identifying Robbery Suspects
Detectives are searching for two men in connection with a Friday night robbery.
Local law enforcement are asking for the public's help in finding the suspects in a an armed robbery that happened around 10:26 p.m. Friday in Tarpon Springs.Â
According to Captain Jeffrey Young of the Tarpon Springs Police Department, the incident occurred at Liquors of Tarpon, located at 604 S. Pinellas Ave., when two men entered the shop and demanded money from the cash register.Â
"One of the males brandished a dark colored handgun while ordering the clerk to open the register for his partner," Captain Young wrote in a media release.

After obtaining a large amount of cash, the suspects grabbed a bottle of vodka and fled south of the store to their vehicle. No tag number or vehicle description was provided by witnesses.Â
The two suspects, both black men, were described as:

Suspect 1 wore a maroon Tarpon Springs High School Spongers sweatshirt and was described as standing 5-foot-1Â and weighing approximately 160 to 170 pounds. According to a news release, the clerk described him as being "lean and muscular." The hood on the sweatshirt was pulled up over his head and he wore a green mask, black pants and white Nike sneakers. This was also the suspect that showed a handgun during the robbery.
Suspect 2 was described as also being about 5-foot-1 but weighing around 140 to 150 pounds. He was wearing a grey Ohio State sweatshirt, white knee-length shorts and a black and white mask. He was also wearing white sneakers. According to the release, this suspect did not show a weapon but took the cash from the register.
