Tonight: Tarpon Springs Marching Band Performs Free Show

The Tarpon Springs Leadership Conservatory for the Arts is hosting a family and friends event this evening.

Last weekend, the Tarpon Springs Marching Band took the crown as No. 1 (Class AA) in the region at the Atlanta Super Regional competition. The victory marked the school's fourth year in a row as champions. 

In addition to winning the the regional title, the band also scooped awards for Outstanding Music Performance, Outstanding Visual Performance and Outstanding General Effect. The Tarpon Springs Marching Band also landed the honor of Overall Super Champions at the competition.

The group was welcomed home with a police escort through town on Sunday morning.

This win adds to the band's already reputable season with a sweep at the Seminole Sound and the East Lake Classic. 

To celebrate their victory, the Tarpon Springs Leadership Conservatory for the Arts is hosting a free event at the Tarpon Springs High School Stadium tonight, Nov. 1.

The community is invited to cheer on these talented teens and witness their award winning performance of "Poisoned." The show starts at 7:45 p.m.

The Tarpon Springs Marching Band will compete at Clearwater High School this weekend, on Saturday night, for the FBA district title. Competition begins at 9:30 p.m. 

Next week, the band will travel to Indianapolis, where they will compete in the Grand Nationals competition.
