What Business Should Occupy This Vacant Building?

Vacant buildings are seen as eyesores by some, so we want to know what kind of business you think should fill the space formerly occupied by UnderGrounds Coffee House in Tarpon Springs.

The building where UnderGrounds Coffee House used to be located is vacant and available for rent.

The Tarpon Springs shop closed at the end of August and has yet to be reopened as a new business.

Given the building's location, at 212 E. Tarpon Ave., in downtown Tarpon's shopping district, there is a school of thought that an eatery would attract business for the whole area.

Tarpon Springs Patch blogger Mark Schantz wrote about the need for more food establishments on Tarpon Avenue in the same vicinity as the empty building.

Locals spoke out via the blog in support of Schantz's suggestion.

Boe Rushing, who owns a business on Tarpon Avenue, wrote, "Some of us are pouring our blood, sweat and tears into our businesses and this community but we can't wait forever."

Rushing also wrote that potential business owners that are looking to rent in the area should be offered incentives so that the district can flourish naturally.

Another Patch reader, Amber Grinovich, wrote, "Thank you so much for writing this, I do believe that Tarpon Ave. can be a great success story if they subscribed to this concept."

What kind of business do you think would fit best at the former UnderGrounds location?
