Yankee Bean a Favorite for Good Food
The store just celebrated its sixth year in business in Tarpon Springs.

Yankee Bean has it all, from soup to salads and sandwiches. And don't forget the homemade potato salad and fresh pickle served with every sandwich.
Since my arrival in Tarpon Springs, I have found the food to be just as delicious as everyone predicted. Another note is that the area reminds me of a small town up north. I love that aspect because I have family in Connecticut, but the winters are a bit too frigid for my Florida roots. I believe Tarpon Springs is the ideal location, blending a hometown community with a tropical paradise.Â
I ventured over to Yankee Bean to find the name to be rather fitting. The tiny shop on South Pinellas Ave. offers a log cabin type dining room and a largely popular take-out service.

To stick to the shop's traditions, on my first visit I opted for the signature egg salad sandwich ($6.79). In this dish, Yankee Bean's signature egg salad is served on pumpernickel toast with avocado, lettuce, tomato and bacon. The combination was superb.
