Cornerstone Prep Announces New Incoming Head of School

The Cornerstone Preparatory Academy Board of Directors is delighted to announce Mr. David Raines as the incoming Head of School. Following a comprehensive and prayerful search, and in partnership with Vanderbloemen, Mr. Raines will become the third Head of School in Cornerstone's history following Mrs. Jeanne Borders (2004-2019) and Mrs. Marsha Robbins (2019-2025).

David has a strong commitment to Christ and Christian education. He brings a wealth of experience via former roles as a teacher, coach, athletic director, principal, and head of school. His expertise in leadership and his vision for school sustainability and growth will further strengthen Cornerstone.

David received an undergraduate degree in history education and a master’s degree in educational leadership. In addition to serving in Christian education, he has been a deacon, youth group leader, and finance committee member at his church. He will be joining us in July after completing his tenure as Head of School for The King's Academy located in Florence, South Carolina.

David loves the Lord Jesus, is a strong and compassionate executive leader, and is sought out for his business acumen, creativity, and “outside the box” thinking. He is a listener, a disciplined planner, and an effective communicator with a focus on strategic growth, organizational leadership, efficiency, and safety.

David and his wife, Nancy, will celebrate twenty-nine years of marriage in July. David and Nancy have four children: Luke (Mary Catherine), Rachel (Logan), Caleb, Allison, and one grandson, Dakota. His three oldest children are out of college and all live in the Atlanta area.
