Cornerstone Prep Chess is Making Their Move
Chess Team and Club are popular with students
Cornerstone Prep offers a Chess Team for students with a competitive edge, as well as a chess club for students who want to learn the game and play for enjoyment. The Cornerstone Chess Team consists of eight students who practice outside of school and will compete in local, regional, and state tournaments this year. The Chess Team's goals are to:
- Improve Chess Skills (attention, memory, decision making)
- Team Collaboration (share knowledge, discuss strategies)
- Participate in Competition (gain experience)
Cornerstone Prep's entire student body is able to participate in "Midday Moves" which is a chess club that is hosted once per month during the student's lunch hour. For more information about this year's Chess Team, please contact Jenny Ostell, Chess Sponsor: jostell@cornerstoneprep.org.
