Felon Pleads Guilty to Trafficking a 16 Year Old Girl

The felon faces up to 90 years in prison after pleading guilty

Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds announces that a felon faces up to 90 years in prison after pleading guilty to human trafficking and pimping a girl under age 18.

On Thursday, as the state was about to rest its case after four days of trial, Timothy Rasheed Walker, 26, of LaGrange, pleaded guilty to two counts of human trafficking of a person under age 18, two counts of pimping a person under age 18, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

In the early morning hours of April 6, 2014, Walker drove a 16-year-old Marietta girl to a residence on Akers Mill Road to meet a “john,” Aaron McKee, who had responded to an ad on Backpage. Later, McKee and the girl argued over the money, and she returned to Walker’s car in the parking lot. Walker, armed with a handgun, then went to the door of McKee’s residence. McKee, meanwhile, called police and reported there was a domestic disturbance in the parking lot. He then texted the girl and urged her and Walker to leave because police were coming.

“After he was arrested, the defendant said that he didn’t realize he had driven into Cobb County until Cobb Police showed up. He stated that if he had known it was Cobb County, he never would have gone to that apartment,” said ADA Hannah Palmquist. “We want to confirm and reinforce the reputation that Cobb has with people who try to make a living in the sex trade – after a week of trafficking his victim all over the metro area, the very first time this defendant brought her to a residence in Cobb, he was apprehended, prosecuted and convicted.”

Visiting Senior Judge Levis A. McConnell Jr. presided over the trial and accepted the plea. Walker waived his right to withdraw his plea, and he will be sentenced at a later date. Marietta attorney Dennis O’Brien represented Walker, who has remained in custody since his arrest at the scene. Walker was previously convicted of aggravated assault and robbery in Clayton County. McKee pleaded guilty in 2015 to cruelty to children in the first degree and was sentenced to six years of probation, with the condition that he must testify truthfully against Walker. Cobb Police Det. S. Northrop investigated this case.
