Man Convicted Of Raping Teen In Cherokee

The teen confided in a family member about the alleged rape before telling authorities the man "forced himself on her," GA prosecutors say.

CANTON, GA — A 34-year-old man on Friday was convicted of raping a 14-year-old teenager and other charges stemming from April 2023, Cherokee County District Attorney Susan K. Treadaway said in a news release.

Prosecutors said Alexis Trinidad, also known as Elder Israel Perez, of Marietta, was convicted after a four-day jury trial.

The teenager confided in a family member before telling authorities Trinidad "forced himself on her and ultimately raped her" at an Acworth home, prosecutors said, adding Trinidad was known to the child.
