Man Dead, Woman Stabbed Amid Cherokee SWAT Standoff
The man was found dead with a self-inflicted wound during an hours-long SWAT standoff in Cherokee County.
ACWORTH, GA — A man died in a SWAT staff at a Still Lake Drive home, where a woman was found seriously injured with multiple stab wounds, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said late Sunday.
Authorities responded to a domestic dispute Sunday afternoon at the Acworth home, where they say a woman was found in a cul-de-sac with multiple stab wounds. She was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, they said.
Deputies surrounded the home, and the county's SWAT team and hostage negotiators were called to the scene, authorities said.

They added several hours were spent trying to contact the suspect via a loud speaker; this led to the SWAT team deploying chemical munitions into the home, authorities said.
A drone then entered the home, and authorities said they found the man dead with a self-inflicted wound. An official cause and manner of death are unknown.
