Alpharetta Business Association Celebrates 25th Anniversary

The Alpharetta Business Association is made up of professionals who work together to improve the city's business climate.

ALPHARETTA, GA — A group of downtown Alpharetta merchants came together in 1994 to promote their businesses in an effort to attract more customers to the area. Twenty-five years later, the determination of the Alpharetta Business Association has paid off as this North Fulton County city has been touted as one of the most desirable places to live in the country.

The Alpharetta Business Association originally launched as the Downtown Alpharetta Business Association. Despite its run through two and a half decades, its commitment to the area as it continues to grow, change, and provide unlimited opportunities. ABA's reach now extends beyond downtown to every corner of Alpharetta, and it all businesses in the city and surrounding areas to join its ranks.

Alpharetta Business Association membership includes dedicated business professionals who work together to improve the business climate in Alpharetta. ABA is the presenting organizer of many local events and projects, including:

  • Downtown Alpharetta Farmers Market: features about 80 vendors each Saturday from mid-April through October.
  • Alpharetta Business Expo: one of the largest business expos in North Fulton County.
  • Brew Moon Fests: spring and fall events featuring live music, food, and of course beer.
  • State of the City Address and Mayor’s Breakfast, an annual event for the Alpharetta mayor to deliver the outlook for the year.
  • Alpharetta First: projects that help enhance the downtown area.
  • Alpharetta Guidebook: a comprehensive magazine that provides information about the city.

Peg Hussing, president of the Alpharetta Business Association, said the organization will celebrate its 25th anniversary throughout 2019.

"Over the years, the organization has grown and changed but the original vision remains the same," Hussing said. "We help create a thriving Alpharetta, alive with business, shopping and activity. That’s at the heart of our group."
