- Recently, bodycam and surveillance footage from inside the North Fulton County Jail has been released, shedding light on a choking incident involving a woman under arrest. Alpharetta Police, whose officers were present during the incident, have conducted an internal investigation and declared their officers innocent of any wrongdoing. However, a Fulton County Sheriff's Office detention officer named Clark has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, prompting Sheriff Pat Labat to condemn the act as indefensible and reiterate his commitment to holding all employees accountable. - Several important agenda items were addressed in a recent City Council meeting and public hearing held on Jun. 26. First, there was a second reading of the UDC Text Amendment, focusing on zoning procedures to ensure compliance with Georgia's Zoning Procedures Law. Second, the Alpharetta Design Review Board Ordinance and Design Guidelines Text Amendment also underwent its second reading to align with the state law. Additionally, the Mayor and City Council deliberated on a resolution concerning the submission of a cooperative agreement for Fulton County's Community Development Block Grant Program. Furthermore, the Council discussed the approval of a 5-year towing contract with United Towing, Inc. and the award of a contract for stormwater mitigation design services at Log Cabin Park. - After saving a woman from a severe anaphylactic shock, Milton firefighters are being hailed as heroes. Tanya Lamei expressed her gratitude to Jeffrey Bardugon, Andrew Akers and their fellow firefighters for their quick response and life-saving actions. When Tanya experienced a sudden allergic reaction, the firefighters administered epinephrine, provided oxygen and started IVs, ultimately restoring her breathing before an ambulance could arrive.
