Here are the top stories today in Alpharetta-Milton:

  1. Watch out for deer when driving in our area, especially over the next few weeks. It is their peak mating season, which is also when there are a high number of deer collisions. There are a lot of deer in our area due to all the creeks, stream and woods and they usually travel in packs. Most car accidents involving deer take place during dawn and dusk.(City of Alpharetta)
  2. Election Day is tomorrow, Nov 8. If you haven't already voted, find your assigned location using this link www.mvp.sos.ga.gov.. On Election Day, people can vote only at their assigned precincts. (Election Day)
  3. Over 1,000 absentee ballots weren't mailed by Cobb County due to human error. As a result, they sent out over 200 ballots to out of state addresses overnight with pre-paid overnight return envelopes. Some of these voters went ahead and voted early, and the remaining voters are encouraged to vote on Election Day. The error was found by an investigation conducted by election officials. (Fox 5)

  • A recent inspection at The Ridge – Great Steak and Seafood in Cumming did not go well; the restaurant scored 41/U. Issues found included dirty shoes and socks stored near food, mold found on lemons, and raw chicken and raw beef stored together. In addition, tableware for use was dirty and stored near a trash can. This restaurant will be re-inspected soon.
