Here are the top three stories today in Alpharetta-Milton:

  1. Authorities are currently investigating a Jun. 17 burglary at an Alpharetta restaurant. Around 3:00 a.m., officers responded to a residential burglary alarm that went off at the Fancy Pantry Café; they discovered that the culprits used a keg to smash through the store's door and window before stealing a cash register containing $400. Although investigators found security cameras on the scene, no suspect had been publicly identified at the time of the report. (Appen Media)
  2. A 46-year-old Alpharetta resident was arrested for reportedly being in possession of a stolen truck. On Jun. 13, police responded to a call at a Jameson Pass apartment complex regarding a moving truck parked illegally in a handicapped parking space; they later learned the truck had been reported stolen from a local Penske. The unidentified suspect —who also had a warrant for felony theft — reported that he intended to return the truck but could not do so, as he had not secured an apartment at the complex yet. (Appen Media)
  3. The City of Alpharetta has shared parking and road closure information for this year's July 4th fireworks at Wills Park. According to the city, the four main parking lots — Wacky World, the Recreation Center, the Equestrian Center, and the Alpharetta Community Center — will all remain open until capacity is reached. Once the parking lots are full, Old Milton Parkway near Wills Park will be partially closed; public safety officers will be on site to facilitate one-way traffic and detours.
