  1. Fetch Park will open its new location in Alpharetta on Friday, June 24. This is an innovative business idea that combines an off-leash dog park with a bar. 2. Any Alpharetta or Milton residents heading to Truist Park this weekend? In advance of the Zac Brown Band performance on Friday, the park has released updated water bottle and cooling policies in light of the heat wave that's expected. You can find the updated regulations here. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  3. When a storm passes through the area, it's possible that rainwater running off homes can produce hundreds of gallons per storm. The Alpharetta, Fulton County Public Works and the Alpharetta Natural Resources Commission want residents to be more educated on how to use this water to their advantage. On Saturday, June 25, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Rock Mill Park Pavilion, they will be hosting a free rain barrel workshop. All who participate will be provided with a 55-gallon rain barrel with a diverter kit. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  4. The Fulton County School Board has approved the sale of a former historically Black school in Alpharetta. The Bailey-Johnson school once served Black children during segregation. The $6 million sale will go toward an office development called Garren on Kimball. The developer plans to preserve historical aspects of the school's structure. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  5. Milton's Parks and Recreation Advisory Board met on Thursday to discuss a summer heat policy for all City-affiliated programs. Residents find the issue more and more pressing as heat advisories have been posted across the state for this weekend. The goal of the meeting is to find a solution that prioritizes the health of Milton's residents. This is a developing conversation, and updates and resolutions will be discussed throughout the week. Are you an Alpharetta-Milton resident looking for an investment alternative to the stock market?

Bloomberg recently asked experts where they’d invest $100,000 right now, and many of them had the same answer: fine art.

Thinking you can’t afford a Picasso? Well in 2012, Congress passed the JOBS Act, which allowed for the securitization of artwork. A company called Masterworks.io built the largest platform for buying and selling art securities. In the past, you could only buy shares of companies like Apple, but with this investing app, you can unlock this powerful investment.

Meaning, you can invest in shares of million-dollar artwork. And in uncertain times, it turns out, fine art may be a wise investment. Here’s why:

  • Low correlation to stocks according to Citi
  • Contemporary art historically returns 23.2% when inflation is >3%
  • Contemporary art prices outpaced the S&P 500 by 164% (1995-2021)
