• Alpharetta football coach leaves for out-of-state opportunity (macon.com) — Alpharetta High School’s head football coach Brian Landis has left after just one season to pursue an out-of-state opportunity, prompting the school to name Ron Jankovich and offensive coordinator PJ Katz as interim co-head coaches. The Raiders are coming off a 2-8 season, and administrators praised Landis’ impact while signaling a transition period for the program.
   

• Police end vehicle pursuit after driver flees area (appenmedia.com) — Alpharetta police recently called off a vehicle pursuit on Ga. 120 after a driver who had been weaving through traffic without signaling fled past Ga. 400 and into Johns Creek. Officers ended the chase for safety reasons and later lost track of the vehicle, which remains unidentified but was classified as a fleeing or attempt-to-elude incident.
