Alpharetta football coach leaves for out-of-state opportunity (macon.com) — Alpharetta High School’s head football coach Brian Landis has resigned after just one season to pursue an out-of-state opportunity, leaving the Raiders searching for new leadership. Interim duties will be handled by Ron Jankovich and offensive coordinator PJ Katz after a 2-8 season that included wins over Forsyth Central and South Forsyth.
   

2. FBI serves arrest warrant during standoff at Alpharetta hotel (fox5atlanta.com) — A large law-enforcement response shut down part of the area around the Comfort Suites on Kingswood Place Monday as the FBI served an arrest warrant on a barricaded suspect in Alpharetta. With help from Alpharetta police, North Fulton SWAT, and the suspect’s father, negotiators persuaded him to surrender peacefully.
