Fulton Offering 'Rush' Immunizations in Alpharetta

Back-to-school event also includes eye, ear and dental screenings.

With the new school year set to start Aug. 12 in Alpharetta, the Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness kicks off its Back to School Immunization Rush on Monday, July 29.

The back to school vaccination kick-off will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday at the North Fulton Regional Health Center in Alpharetta, 3155 Royal Drive, 404-612-1876.

“On July 29, our Nursing Division will focus on giving vaccinations, eye-ear-dental screenings and the required certifications for children to attend school,” says Patrice A. Harris, MD, Director of Fulton County Health Services.

Accepted forms of payment include Visa and Mastercard, cash, medicaid, United HealthCare and CIGNA. Clients needing financial assistance must present proof of income. 

What should parents bring?

  • Your child’s immunization records.
  • Children entering kindergarten and those new to Georgia: Immunization Certificate, Georgia Form 3231, and a Dental, Vision and Hearing Form 3300.

What are the required immunizations?

  • Children entering kindergarten: May need a second dose of varicella (chicken pox), measles and mumps vaccines and a booster dose of DTap and IPV.
  • Children entering the sixth grade: May need another dose of chicken pox vaccine if they have not had chicken pox disease and another dose of MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella). It is recommended that children 11-12 years of age also receive TDap, Meningitis and HPV.
  • High school and college students: Meningitis vaccine that prevents meningococcal disease.

Children are required to have certain vaccinations in order to attend public school. Vaccinations are available at all Fulton County Health Centers on an ongoing basis.
