The Milton (3rd-62 pts) girls track & field team, led by senior Ella Grace Malcom, bested 11 schools at this past weekend’s Fulton County Schools track & field championships.
GIRLS
Senior Ella Grace Malcom led the Lady Eagles in scoring (21 points) to push Milton past 11 schools. Westlake (1st-132.5 pts) & Alpharetta (2nd-71 pts) were the only county teams to beat the Lady Eagles.
Malcom scored two individual titles & ran a leg on a relay to help propel Milton to a top-3 team finish. Malcom won a close battle in the 1600m (1st-5:16.46) to just miss her personal best & came back in the 800m (1st-2:19.99) to win handily. Malcom then teamed up with sophomore Kelsey Anderson, fellow senior Leelah Dennis & freshman Simone Dennis to run the 8th-fastest time in school history in the 4x400m (5th-4:11.78). The 4x800m (2nd-10:12.64) relay team of seniors Leelah Dennis & Calista Caccitore along with junior Ella Franke & freshman Lucie Gallagher ran a season’s best time for the runner-up finish. Freshman Simone Dennis was a double scorer as well with her 100m (4th-12.24) & 200m (6th-25.65) finishes.
BOYS
Milton (10th-34 pts) bested 4 schools in one of the most competitive meets of the season so far. Highlights included a pair of runner-up finishes in the 800m by senior Zach Patell (2nd-1:57.38), and in the 3200m by junior Justin Sevel (2nd-9:55.70) in a personal best time. The boys 4x800m (3rd-8:36.72) relay team of senior Daniel Murray, sophomores Everett Lawder & Jayin Batra & freshman Jonathan Lynch also ran a season’s best time and recorded the next highest finish for the Eagles.
